Maureen Pollard is a literacy consultant whose workshops for teachers, schools and parents focus on practical strategies for building phonemic awareness skills and alphabet knowledge to help children learn to read, write and spell with confidence. Maureen has taught literacy skills in England, Spain and South Africa and lectured at The University of Melbourne. Much of her experience in developing learning and teaching strategies for whole-school populations came from her years as Head of Special Education at Tintern Girls Grammar School in Melbourne.
