Starting school with confidence is really important.  The demands both socially and academically are huge in the first year of school, so if your child begins school knowing something about 'sounds, writing and reading' it can make a huge difference to how they  feels as a learner and how confidently they settle into school. 

Marita Fraser, an experienced speech pathologist, uses the Little Learners Love Literacy program in her Love2Learn sessions.  These sessions are fun but focused on linking language skills with an understanding of sounds, letters and literacy.  Parents are encouraged to stay so that they understand the approach and how to follow up at home. Classes will be held daily in Canterbury in 2012 which helps mums organize sessions on days when there is no kindergarten. Marita has a dedicated centre in Canterbury Rd, Canterbury.
