NEW STEP Parenting Courses 2008

Parenting Young Children:

Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) of Children Under Six. This 8 week course, 2 hours per week, will give you the tools to tackle the special challenges of parenting infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. An experienced educational psychologist, Lyn Henshall, will be leading these small group sessions. Lyn Henshall was my mentor at Tintern Girls Grammar. She has extraordinary skills and knowledge plus a great sense of fun; this is particularly important when discussing the challenges of parenting.

Topics discussed include:

• the long term goals of parenting
• how young children think, feel and act
• skills to develop your child’s self-esteem and confidence
• skills to increase your enjoyment and effectiveness as a parent.
• effective ways to teach cooperation and discipline.

Wednesday 9.30 – 11.30 at Daydreamers Centre, Prahan.

Cost $295 plus $40 manual; commencing March 2008. Only 12 participants.
